My speach at the seminar is as follows:
Kawa Mahmud
This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, which began with just a few dozen members and has grown into the world's largest ruling party with over 100 million members. Throughout its history, it has achieved national liberation and transformed China into the world's second-largest economy.
April,2026, when I visited the Party Museum in Beijing and Shanghai, I didn't feel that the Party was small at its inception. While it may have been small in terms of membership at the time, it has always been great in the magnitude of the tasks it has undertaken to confront foreign occupation, bullying, and the wars waged against it to undermine its rich civilization. The Party has always been, and remains, great in the stature of its leaders and fighters.
The secret to victory and superiority in various battles lies in the Party's practical and theoretical creativity and innovation, achieved by developing theory through practical application, understanding reality and its evolving dynamics, and grasping the pulse of the people and their fundamental needs. The Communist Party of China (CPC) has grown because it has prioritized the people in its commitments, adhering to the principle of "people first" since its founding, to achieve a prosperous life.
Through practice, the CPC has successfully developed a Chinese-style communication theory: the continuous connection between the Party and the people; the connection between the Party leadership and its cadres and grassroots members; the unity of Party members around the leadership core; and the creation of mechanisms to expand the public sphere and activate popular democracy.
The Party has also successfully drawn upon the values and wisdom of Chinese civilization, which, from its earliest stages, has emphasized the importance of achieving political stability and social security for the people.
Based on an understanding of national realities and historical, cultural, and civilizational conditions, the Party has successfully formulated its development model, acting independently without replicating the experiences of others. China has produced its own model, which belongs to China, and offers this methodology of development to the world so that other countries can understand its national characteristics and define their own tasks by prioritizing the service of their people in their policies, according to their own realities and independent will. This is the lesson China offers to the world.
In my observations in Beijing and Shanghai, I have witnessed high-quality modernization and development. Artificial intelligence is found in many areas. Development in China isn't limited to magnificent bridges, advanced transportation, and skyscrapers; it's about people and their material, spiritual, and cultural needs. Development in China is about eradicating poverty, combating desertification, and ensuring blue skies and fresh water. In the cities I visited, I saw people working, building socialism, singing, and dancing. They were happy, unafraid of lack of food or healthcare, unemployment, or poverty. They didn't suffer from alienation. Fifty-six diverse ethnic groups, united by a nation that has achieved equality, parity, and social justice for them, were, are, and will remain one people.
The modernization era has taken significant strides forward, completing the preparatory stage and entering the stage of Chinese-style modernization. This modernization has strengthened the unity of the Chinese people and their shared destiny, rooted in Chinese civilization. It has connected traditional Chinese wisdom with contemporary realities, enriching wisdom through accumulated experience, and announcing key initiatives within the framework of a shared future for humanity. These initiatives include the Common Security and Common Development Initiative, the World Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative. Furthermore, the prospects of Chinese policy suggest the announcement of a new initiative concerning ecological governance.
